October 2020 Update

To community members of the College Promenade,

The past few weeks have been a very exciting time for us at Clifton Blake. With fall officially in full swing, it’s also been an eventful time for businesses on the College Promenade. Without further ado, let’s get into all the latest updates.

On Thursday, September 17, our team gathered on site at The Carvalo to honour an age-old tradition of celebrating the first pour of concrete that will form part of the building foundation. During the ceremony, as concrete was poured into the forms, we threw coins down into the foundation. Now embedded in the foundation, the coins are thought to bring good luck and prosperity as construction continues. We hope this proves to be true!

Quite a few businesses on the College Promenade have made exciting changes to their operations, and many of them are already getting in the fall spirit. Both Health Hut, a natural lifestyle shop, and Print Vintage, a vintage clothing store, have extended their business hours, which means community members will have even more time to pick up their autumn essentials. Sellers & Newel, a charming second-hand book shop, opened an online Etsy shop and will be offering free local shipping and delivery to fellow Torontonians. Prairie Boy Bread has brought back their popular seasonal apple cider bread and De Frank Monkey Cafe Bar is now serving up fall flavoured beverages.

We’re thrilled to see so many College Promenade businesses thriving despite less than ideal circumstances. The Carvalo truly is situated in one of the best neighbourhoods in Toronto, and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it.

Best Regards,

The Clifton Blake Team
