November 2020 Update

To residents and neighbours of the College Promenade,
The start of fall has been a busy time at the Carvalo site. The first foundations were poured in September, the tower crane was erected in October, and crews are mobilizing to push the job out of the ground. Despite some challenges, Gillam has effectively and efficiently managed COVID-19 protocols to protect workers and the public while continuing to keep the project moving forward with minimal disruption.
This season has also presented some challenges for businesses on the College Promenade. On October 9th, indoor dining was shut down in Toronto due to rising COVID-19 cases. Now, more than ever, it’s important to rally around and support local restaurants. Restaurants on the College Promenade that are offering take-out include Alchemy Food & Drink, Chiado Toronto, Guilietta, Siri Kitchen, and Via Norte Restaurant. Restaurants on the College Promenade that have heated patios include Bairrada Churrasqueira, The Caledonian, and Vos Restaurante. Your support can make a world of difference to these businesses!
As part of the Bag of Toronto project, which curates bags of goodies from local neighbourhoods that are delivered right to your door, The College Promenade BIA has launched a Bag of College Promenade. The bag costs $60 and will be delivered on one of four weekends (Nov 21, Nov 28, Dec 5, and Dec 12). This is another great way you can do your part to help College Promenade businesses. To support this amazing initiative, order your bag at www.bagoftoronto.ca/.
As we head into winter, we expect to see the Carvalo building rise above grade and start to take shape! We also hope to continue to see College Promenade businesses rise above these unprecedented challenges. Community means everything these days, and we’re thrilled to be joining the incredible College Promenade community.
Best Regards,
The Clifton Blake Team
