July 2020 Update

To community members of the College Promenade,

The latter part of June was filled with plenty of exciting developments in the neighbourhood. With construction on The Carvalo well underway and Toronto officially in phase two of reopening, we have quite a few things to fill you in on.

Construction on The Carvalo at 899 College St. W has been coming along nicely. Since our last update, the drilling and placement of Controlled Modulus Columns (CMCs) have continued as planned. Menard, our ground improvement subcontractor, completed over 75% of the planned locations for CMCs on June 30th. Excavation and shoring trades are preparing to mobilize their forces to commence bulk excavation and lagging in the coming weeks.

Restaurants in the College Promenade neighbourhood have slowly started to reopen just in time for patio season! Local spots that have opened their patios include Alchemy Food & Drink, Chiado Restaurant, Regina Pizzeria & Trattoria, and The Caledonian.

Salons and barbershops have also been given the green light to reopen in recent weeks. Home Salon and Julian Anthony Salon are now booking in-person appointments and Blood & Bandages Barbershop is also open for business once again!

We’re thrilled that local businesses are starting to open back up and can’t wait to see what else is in store for the College Promenade community this summer. There’s no place like home, and The Carvalo is undoubtedly in one of the best neighbourhoods in Toronto.

Best Regards,

The Clifton Blake Team
